I was invited to play lead and slide guitar for this four-piece outfit. Previous members from The Cigarettes and Pellenor transformed into a slicker
and sophisticated band fusing rock, jazz and blues influences. Along with the exploratory experimentation of Pellenor and the sophistication of The Cigarettes this new outfit combined elements of satire and visual style.
The literary and songwriting talents and pursuits of Mark Gove and Alan Wright were emerging as well, inspired by the positive DIY inspiration and fallout from Punk and New Wave ie: “anything’s possible.”
In a sense the band observed and responded to it’s local coastal environment now increasingly exposed to Melbourne and Sydney’s new music explosion and inner city push.
We performed consistent shows at Deakin University: Market Day, The Eureka Hotel and The Argyle Hotel.
