Forming this band to further express my ideas meant I created a new challenge for myself now as a lead vocalist and guitarist from what I learnt in all previous bands.
For me it was an extension and progression for many of the ideas and creative methods learnt and absorbed from Kikx. I wrote and experimented with my own original songs in the format of a classic 60’s and 70’s power-pop trio. The band adopted the idea of “less is more” similar to The Police and XTC. Musicians were pushed to the limits of their skills in creating a full sound. Worked with photography, graphics, video, film and broadcast media. Songs were quirky and covered coastal, urban and industrial themes. Fused influences of punk, new wave, jazz and electronica. The band completed one 16 track recording project at David William’s’York Street Studios in Melbourne.
We did extensive recordings of rehearsals, songs in progress and live performances playing Geelong, Melbourne and coastal shows.
